I support the proposal to include Eyjafjörður and Öxarfjörður in the group of fjords and floes that enjoy exemption from open net pens, and thus a comprehensive protection and preservation area will be created. Moreover such protection will be moved from regulation to law.

Numerous serious environmental disasters have already occurred under the strict supervision of the Icelandic government, including salmon and fish mortality, massive pollution, and the release of thousands of non-native eldri salmon. It is not too late to prevent further damage. I advocate for a ban of sea cages.
